Privacy Policy (RA 10173 Compliance)
Compliant with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173)
1. Commitment to Data Privacy
Alimbra CarRental respects and protects the fundamental human right to privacy in accordance with Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012, and its Implementing Rules and Regulations issued by the National Privacy Commission (NPC). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how it is used, and how it is isolated and protected.
2. Information We Collect
- Rental Operator Account Data: Business name, garage physical address, detected city/operating area, contact mobile number, business email, Facebook page link, and vehicle fleet listings.
- Renter Profile & Reservation Data: Full legal name, email address, contact mobile phone number, residential address, traveler classification (Local Resident or Foreign Traveler), and optional occupation or social profile link provided for booking verification.
- Location & Address Queries: Street, barangay, and city queries entered into our address search (powered by OpenStreetMap Nominatim) to determine garage service areas and trip destination rate tiers.
- No Online Collection of Driver's License Numbers: We do not require renters to upload scans of their driver's license or government IDs onto the platform. Physical identification documents are verified face-to-face at the rental garage office or upon vehicle handover.
3. How We Use & Isolate Your Data
- Strict Tenant Isolation: Renter reservation details are shared exclusively with the specific rental garage where the booking request was placed, enforced via database Row-Level Security (RLS). Other garages cannot view your bookings.
- Location Usage: Address and destination inputs are used solely to match trips with the garage's configured destination rate tiers and delivery options.
- No Third-Party Data Selling: We never sell, rent, or trade customer or operator personal information to third-party marketers.
4. Your Rights Under the Data Privacy Act (RA 10173)
As a data subject under Philippine law, you are entitled to exercise the following rights at any time:
- Right to Be Informed & Access: View the personal and booking information associated with your account via your Profile page.
- Right to Rectification: Update or correct your name, contact phone number, address, or business details directly within your account settings.
- Right to Erasure / Account Deletion: Request permanent deletion of your renter or operator account and associated personal data by contacting our data protection team at alimbraryit@gmail.com.
